Learning Activation Lab

The Learning Activation Lab is a national research and design effort to dramatically strengthen learning in the United States and beyond. Our goal is to learn and demonstrate how we can activate children’s interest and curious minds in ways that ignite persistent engagement in learning and innovation. Our work spans multiple disciplines and considers the combinations of dispositions, skills, and knowledge that position individuals for success in learning in those disciplines.

News and Opportunities:

Exciting News!
The Lawrence Hall of Science, a partner in the Activation Lab, with support from the National Science Foundation, has launched a toolkit that translates the suite of research protocols and measurement instruments into a comprehensive toolkit for evaluating science learning experiences. This toolkit, called the ActApp, includes mechanisms for collecting high-quality data in low-technology environments, a how-to guide, and data collection protocols for using the tools in evaluation contexts. For more information, contact us at info@activationlab.org or visit the Toolkit page. Or, visit the ActApp poster at the Association of Science-Technology Centers Annual conference in San Jose, CA on October 22nd.
